Service
Service is one of the most important pillars of this program to me as I greatly value the ability this position allows me to have as I give back to the communities that have given to me for so many years. From pouring into the Little Sisters program, to growing my CSI, Service is a pillar I strive to integrate with my daily life both with and without the crown. By being a member of many volunteer clubs within my school such as DECA, FCCLA, Student Council, and more, I am leading by example as I teach the next generation to give back to their communities while also having fun. From building beds, to organzing food and coat drives, to packaging over 10,000 meals for the hungry, I believe everyone can find a way to get involved in their communities and make change through one action at a time.
Scholarship
Before now, my college options were extremely limited as I was hesitant on the best route to achieve higher education without the financial burden. With the dollars gained within MAO, I can now attend college out of state, at my dream school of the University of Alabama. Thanks to the North Carolina College and Career Promise Program, I also will be able to graduate from high school with both a high school diploma and my Associates in Science degree. Both lessening my financial burdens as I continue to pursue higher education majoring in Kinesiology. By sharing my story nationwide, I hope to inspire other young women to become involved within Miss America and give all students tools to help them achieve their educational dreams without drowning themselves in tens of thousands of dollars in debt.
Success
In middle school I was told by my peers I would never be successful in life. Taking this as a call to action, I became an advocate for others in my community. Since these words were spoken to me five years ago I have expanded my CSI nationwide, traveled over 8,000 miles across the state of NC inspiring others to find their passion projects, joined multiple nationally recognized prestigious academic clubs, and have spoken to Senators and Representatives on Capitol Hill about IBD legislation. Through setting SMART goals, teaching positive mental mindset techniques, and becoming the brand mentor of Miss America, I am teaching other children, teens, and adults alike how to turn hateful words into fuel for their futures.
Success in Numbers
As a titleholder who has a third of a billion impressions annually, I am using my voice not only to speak out on my Community Service Initiative but also to use my platforms to speak as the brand ambassador for the Miss America Opportunity.
Style
"In a world full of trends, I want to remain a classic."
Iman
Style goes far beyond the clothes, shoes, and jewelry we put on each day. It’s the way we carry ourselves on the daily and how we outwardly show that through the actions we complete. In a world where we are constantly keeping up with the latest trend, I stand out through keeping the authenticity and class through my brand and story. However, one of our greatest assets is to be able to showcase our personality through the pieces of clothing we choose to wear. With every piece of wardrobe I will show at Miss America’s Teen, it perfectly reflects who the authentic version of Kamryn is.
Sisterhood
Little Sisters + Miss America's Teen
As someone who has grown through the Little Sisters and Teen programs, I was able to follow and closely watch eight young women and their unique journey’s to Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Teen. The network of the amazing young women you meet in this program is truly remarkable and extends far outside just the state you call home. As an Empower Academy alumna, I was able to learn the basics of becoming Miss America’s Teen and how to be the brand ambassador this program is ready for, while also engaging and meeting women from across the country in the process. As a national ambassador for this organization, it is vitally important to continue the strength of the Miss America Sisterhood. While speaking to Little Sisters and titleholders from across the country, I also hope to bring back Empower Academy for those looking to grow and know more about being the national face of a prestigious organization. I also hope to continue to pour back into the program that started it all for me, the Little Sisters Program. Through spending time with these little girls and inspiring them to always dream big, I am driving in the message that “little girls with dreams do become young women with visions.”
Continuing a Legacy of Success
As the 20th Teen Queen of the Tar Heel state, I am continuing the legacy of class, excellence, and achievement that two decades worth of Teens have built before me. Representing a line of perseverance and dedication, we have all worked to continue the lasting legacy of Miss America by “preparing great women for the world and the world for great women.”
