Alexis Gonzalez, Candidate Coordinator
Alexis Gonzalez is a former local titleholder, having competed at Miss NC twice, winning the non-finalist interview award both times. She is now an attorney, working as a Compliance Officer at Wells Fargo Bank, and an entrepreneur. Alexis is excited to continue making an impact in her community by working with the Miss NC organization as a committee member.
Victoria Huggins, Fundraising Coordinator
As the Community and Media Relations Manager of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers, Victoria managed community presence and partnerships, served as the Director of the team charity, and coordinated media requests. In addition to her appointment to the state committee for the Miss North Carolina Organization, Victoria serves on the Board of Directors for Fayetteville Urban Ministries and the Women in Baseball LIFT Mentorship Program. She represented the Tar Heel State in 2017 as the 80th Miss North Carolina.
Adrienne Sulkey, HBCU Recruitment
Adrienne is excited to be back working with the organization after some time away. As a former Miss Garner (99), Miss Greensboro/4th runner up to Miss NC (00), Miss Western Piedmont/ 1st runner up to Miss NC (01), hostess, Carolina princess and OT committee member – she knows a little bit about pageants! Adrienne is looking forward to helping the organization expand and bridge new relationships with our local colleges/universities, focusing on our Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUS).
Mark Steward, Miss America Travel Liaison
Mark Steward owns a Real Estate brokerage in Raleigh, NC since 2017 and has worked in the Global Real Estate Industry for over 15 years with a focus in the Caribbean and the Triangle.
Mark’s first career was creating and contracting travel programs for American Express customers for over 20 years in the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe and United States. He loved the travel industry but when it went to the Internet, he pivoted to Real Estate and charity work.
Mark has been involved with Miss North Carolina as the travel coordinator for the judges travel and local hotel contracts for several years. He enjoys being involved with the scholarship program and watching the young women benefit from the experience and the monetary assistance the program provides.
Kensi Ward, Work Weekend Coordinator
Kensi serves on the MNCOTeen Executive Committee and has previously served at the local level as the Judges’ Chair for the Miss Capital City/Clayton/Cleveland committee. She holds a Master of Science degree in Communications with a minor in Nonprofit Studies from North Carolina State University and currently works in the meetings and events industry in the life sciences space. Kensi resides in the Wake Forest area with her husband and son.
Amy McCaskill, Work Weekend Coordinator
Amy McCaskill is a member of the MNCOTeen Executive Committee. Before she became part of the MNCOTeen program, she served on the Miss Capital City/Clayton/ Cleveland Executive Board. Amy graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelors in Business Administration and Law. She currently is a stay-at-home mom taking care of her husband and 2 little ones and resides in Clayton.
Shirley Proctor, Field Director
Shirley Proctor has been a volunteer with the Miss North Carolina organization since 2011 when she joined the Miss Goldsboro committee. She has served as Executive Director of that organization since 2015. As a peer-elected member of the Local Executive Directors Advisory Board, she served as a liason between the local committees of the NC Eastern Region and the Miss NC state board. Shirley is a professional singer and actor as well as a small business owner. She and her husband, Bobby Gooding, reside in Eureka, NC with their 5-year-old granddaughter, MacKenzie.
Heather McManus, Field Director
Heather Harris McManus is a Fayetteville, NC native who attended Methodist College garnering a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Marketing while minoring in Business Administration. She succeeds her father, James D. Harris, as owner and operator of their family accounting firm, Harris Accounting.
Heather has been involved with the Miss North Carolina Organization for many years and served as Local Executive Director of the Miss Fayetteville program since 2012. Under her leadership, her committee earned the 2014 & 2017 Local Preliminary of the Year Award and 2018 Local Production of the Year Award. In Heather’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and two fur baby labradoodles, shopping and traveling.
