06/24/2022 High Point, NC – The Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen Competitions kicked off at High Point Theatre last evening. 57 candidates from across the Tarheel state competed in preliminary competitions for a spot in Saturday’s final competition.
Miss Cleveland’s Outstanding Teen, Madison McVey, garnered the Outstanding Teen Preliminary Evening Gown/Onstage Question Award and was awarded a $500 scholarship.
Miss Thomasville’s Outstanding Teen, Josie Perdue, was awarded the Outstanding Teen Talent Award and won a $500 scholarship.
Miss Sandhills, Julia DeSerio, garnered the Miss Red Carpet Award and was awarded a $1,000 scholarship provided by David Clegg.
Miss Thomasville, Lilly Beaver, garnered the Miss Talent Award and received a $1,000 scholarship provided by Steve Googe in memory of his late wife, Susan Googe, Miss North Carolina 1975.
Preliminary competitions continue tonight for our Miss North Carolina’s Outstanding Teen and Miss North Carolina at 3PM and 7:30PM, respectively.
