My First 90 Days As Miss North Carolina’s Teen
Annika Schneider - Miss North Carolina's Teen 2023
On April 26th, 2024 it will be 90 days since I have been crowned. This experience has been nothing short of amazing and I am still so humbled and grateful.
The outpour of consistent love and support that I have received is more than I could have ever imagined. Once I accepted the position I thought… What will people say? How will people react? Will others truly support me taking on the role? The MAO community is one of immense love and support but I doubted this before I was crowned. I am incredibly happy to say that what I previously believed about the sisterhood IS real. Everyone is loving, supporting, kind, and caring. I could not ask for a better family and support system.
I have made a lot of accomplishments and completed a lot of my personal goals throughout my first 90 days. Let's talk about the highlights.
Annika Schneider - Miss North Carolina's Teen 2023
Writing My Book
I was able to achieve a long term goal of mine, writing my own children’s book. I have wanted to do this since Read With Me was created. Truthfully, I never had the resources or connections to do so. I am incredibly thankful that the Miss North Carolina Organization fully supported this endeavor and provided me with the resources to achieve my dreams. Stay tuned for my bilingual children’s book, set to be published in the Summer of 2024.
Miss Puerto Rico Connection
Throughout my time as Miss North Carolina’s Teen I have been able to create an irreplaceable connection with the Miss Puerto Rico Organization. I am thrilled to announce that I will be traveling back to my roots in July of 2024 for the renewal of the Miss Puerto Rico and Miss Puerto Rico’s Teen competition.
Teen of Impact
I was nominated as a Teen of Impact for the Charlotte Mecklenburg area by the American Heart Association. The AHA and Go Red for Women are national partners of the Miss America Opportunity and creating my own partnership with them was amazing. I was able to raise awareness and gather over $2,000 to support the AHA. The funds I raised will help the AHA address awareness gaps when it comes to cardiovascular disease being our greatest health threat, fund lifesaving research, advocate for transformational policies to ensure everyone, everywhere has an equitable opportunity to live a long and healthy life, and provide science-backed resources to help women improve and take charge of their own health.
There are so many more exciting things that I have done as well as so much more left to come. Stay tuned by visiting missnc.org and my personal website annikschneider.com.
