What's special?
Kate is a talented vocalist and a dedicated theater and business student at UNC-Wilmington. With a passion for the arts, she's aiming to inspire young minds through her innovative arts-based after-school programs. Her initiative, "Find Your Spark," has already made a significant impact with "Camp Create," growing from 15 to 100 campers! Did you know Kate also has a unique way of holding a pencil?

Michael Peterson

Michael shines as a lyrical dancer with a heartfelt dedication to making the roads safer for everyone. As a senior at Merancas Middle College, she's setting her sights on a career in medicine, aiming to combine her love for biology with her commitment to community service. Her CSI, "DriveSmart," focuses on reducing distracted driving among teens. Plus, Michael's love for adventure took her cave diving in Mexico!

About the Miss North Carolina Organization
As an official state preliminary associated with the Miss America Organization, the Miss North Carolina Organization (MNCO) is a part of the largest scholarship providing organization for women in the world. Promoting an emphasis on academics and communication skills, the MNCO is considered a launching pad for young women to further their academic and career goals. Taylor Loyd currently serves as Miss North Carolina 2023. Hanley House, crowned Miss North Carolina’s Teen 2023, became the first teen from North Carolina to win the national title as Miss America’s Teen 2024.
