Meet Camdyn Lee

A 17-year-old native of Catawba, North Carolina, Camdyn is the daughter of Scott and Julie Lee and is a rising senior at Bandys High School, where she maintains a 4.5 GPA while laying the academic foundation to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

At her crowning, Camdyn received a $7,500 scholarship provided by Celesty along with an additional $2,000 in scholarships and grants for earning the Preliminary Evening Gown Award, the Scholastic Award, and the Brand Marketing Award. Across three years of competing in the Miss North Carolina’s Teen program, she has now earned a total of $20,500 in scholarships toward her education, claimed the Preliminary Evening Gown Award all three years, and won the Scholastic Award at the state competition two years in a row. Her competition talent is lyrical dance, an art form she uses to tell stories of resilience and hope.

Camdyn’s passion for service, leadership, and advocacy is rooted in her own story. After experiencing bullying and surviving sexual assault, she created her initiative, It Begins With Y.O.U. (Youth, Overcoming, and Uplifting) to help others find their voices, overcome adversity, and know they are not alone. Through school presentations, community outreach, and mentorship, she champions bullying prevention, sexual assault advocacy, and youth empowerment, turning her experiences into purpose and helping others heal through education and support.

It Begins with Y.O.U. (Youth, Overcoming, and Uplifting)

My Community Service Initiative is dedicated to empowering youth to find their voices, support survivors, and break the silence. Inspired by my own experience with bullying from adults, my mission is to ensure children across North Carolina have the tools, resources, and confidence to speak up and seek help, no matter the situation.
It Begins With Y.O.U. reminds us that lasting change begins with compassion and courage. By standing together, we can end bullying, prevent sexual assault, and build a world where every individual feels valued, respected, and safe because it truly begins with Y.O.U.

Staying #MissAmericaFit

After a health scare at a young age, I have prioritized health measures and holistic fitness. Dancing for more than 15 hours a week, I understand the importance of daily goals to stay physically fit. Keeping my body fit and healthy through proper nutrition, daily conditioning, and training allows me to live a healthy lifestyle.
