Current Schooling: I graduated in May 2022 with my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and am currently a graduate student pursuing a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Town, City, and County Management.

What are your scholastic and/or career ambitions? I plan to work in North Carolina local government with the ultimate ambition of being a Town, City, or County Manager.

Community Service Initiative (CSI): Breast Cancer Awareness

What are some objectives you have as a titleholder? My CSI is focused on Breast Cancer Awareness. I have a two fold plan for my year as a titleholder. The first focuses on fundraising. Through percentage nights and online promotion I plan to raise money for a research focused breast cancer organization. The second aspect of my plan focuses on educational awareness. This will be accomplished through a variety of methods. I regularly share social media posts titled “Know The Facts” which share information on breast cancer to increase my followers understanding of the disease. I will be creating and promoting a virtual flip book which will be an all encompassing guide to understanding types of breast cancer, signs and symptoms, risk factors, and preventative measures. I plan to engage in speaking to women’s group where I will pass out physical shower cards – a card which can be put in a woman’s shower to explain how to do her monthly self-breast exam.

What are some interesting facts abut you? I have visited 22 states; I flew on 57 planes and visited 30 colleges and universities during the 2022-2023 academic year; I helped churn fresh North Carolina apple butter at the NC Mountaineer Festival!

What do you enjoy doing for fun? Doing devotionals; watching every Gordon Ramsey show on Hulu; visiting and hiking in North Carolina State Parks. I also enjoy embroidery.
