Miss North Carolina Competitions Return to High Point for 2025, Bringing Economic Impact, Community Celebration, and Scholarship Opportunities
HIGH POINT, N.C. (May 15, 2025) — The Miss North Carolina and Miss North Carolina’s Teen competitions will return to High Point this summer, bringing more than 75 candidates, their families, and fans to the city for a weeklong celebration of scholarship, leadership, and community.
The 2025 State Finals Week, held June 23-28, 2025, is expected to generate close to $2 million in economic impact for High Point’s hospitality, dining, and retail sectors while reinforcing the city’s growing reputation as a host for major cultural events.
“High Point has embraced us as a true partner, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this vibrant, statewide tradition back in 2025. Thanks to the incredible support from Visit High Point, the High Point Theatre, and local businesses, we’re creating an unforgettable experience for our candidates while driving tourism and economic growth for the city.”
Susan Williams, State Executive Director of the Miss North Carolina Organization
This year’s festivities include a new “Welcome to High Point” celebration on Monday, June 23, at Stock + Grain Assembly, presented in partnership with Visit High Point. The free public event will showcase local food vendors, live entertainment, and appearances by High Point Mayor Cyril Jefferson, Melody Burnett, Visit High Point president and Dr. Kerr Ramsey, senior vice president of enrollment at High Point University.
Throughout the week:
- 38 Miss and 37 Teen candidates will compete in private interviews (June 24–25)
- Preliminary competitions will take place at the High Point Theatre (June 25–27)
- The Scholarship Awards Ceremony will highlight this year’s awards and honor the organization’s milestone of more than $1 million in scholarships awarded over the past 15 years (June 27)
The overall scholarships awarded this year will total over $113,000, with 47 scholarships totaling $82,700 being made available to the Miss contestants and 36 scholarships totaling $30,500 offered to the Teen group.
“Our mission goes far beyond the stage. We’re not only awarding scholarships—we’re building a lifelong network for women to connect, mentor, and lead together. It’s an investment that continues to grow as past participants return as benefactors, role models, and champions for the next generation.”
Meghan Porter, Board Chair of the North Carolina Educational Scholarship Fund
