Current Schooling: I received an Associate of Arts from Randolph Early College before attending Western Carolina University. I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Sport Management while at WCU. I then attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I received a Master of Arts in Communications Studies and served as a teaching assistant. I now work as an Event & Volunteer Program Manager for a non-profit aimed at protecting water quality in the Haw River Watershed and I am looking to start a post-baccalaureate certificate program in the realm of sustainability.

What are your scholastic and/or career ambitions? Complete my North Carolina Environmental Education Program, obtain a Master’s degree in Sustainability, and eventually receive a Doctorate in Environmental Communication & teach on a collegiate level.

Community Service Initiative (CSI): Sustainable Shareable Solutions

What are some objectives you have as a titleholder? Sustainable Shareable Solutions serves to protect our drinking & recreational water for generations through eco-based volunteering & implementing environmental education in communities. I plan to continue implementing my K-12 Environmental Education program called “Water Works” in public schools & through the NC Cooperative Extension programs. I will host & continue to partner with other non-profits hosting volunteer opportunities ranging from clean-ups to tree plantings. I will continue to spearhead my storm drain project, where we replace damaged storm drain markers and educate individuals about protecting streams. I will also continue to share & advocate for legislation that ensures clean drinking water for North Carolinians.

What are some interesting facts about you? Met former WWE wrestler, Matt Hardy, at an appearance. Competed in professional bodybuilding contest and placed 1st in the novice division. Featured Sunshine Yoga Fitness Model & highlighted on several yoga mats. Served as a small course instructor and taught 200 students at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

What do you enjoy doing for fun? I enjoy indoor cycling classes, weightlifting, and playing with my German Sheppard, Tucker Welborn aka Mr Blue Ridge Valley! I also enjoy kayaking, hiking, and camping in the mountains of North Carolina!
