Q: Tell us a little about yourself!
A: I’m from Statesville, NC. I am a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, majoring in Business Analytics. I am also a licensed cosmetologist. I would like to get a job as a Marketing Analyst at L’Oréal Professional.
Q: What inspired your Community Service Initiative?
A: My initiative, called “The Power of Skilled Hands,” highlights the value of trade schools. As a local titleholder, I hope to mentor new cosmetology associates as they begin their careers, inspire students to explore the variety of opportunities available through trade schools, and share my story through school visits and community events.
Q: What talent did you perform at your local competition?
A: I did a self-choreographed jazz dance to “Here We Go Again” from the musical Mamma Mia!
Q: Do you have any previous experience within the Miss America Opportunity?
A: Previously, I have held the titles of Miss Asheville’s Outstanding Teen 2014, Miss Statesville’s Outstanding Teen 2013, and Miss Statesville Carolina Princess 2011.
Q: What’s one fun fact about you?
A: I’ve visited Walt Disney World every spring break since I was four years old — you could say I’m a Disney expert!
Q: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off when you’re not competing or volunteering?
A: My favorite way to spend a day off is cooking! I especially love volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte and trying new recipes for the families there. It’s such a rewarding way to combine my love for food with giving back to others.
Q: What’s your favorite way to stay #MissAmericaFit?
A: My favorite way to stay #MissAmericaFit is by working out in the gym, taking my Husky for walks, and dancing at Statesville Dance and Performing Arts. I love keeping fitness fun and part of my daily routine!
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to a younger girl who looks up to you, what would it be?
A: “Never judge a book by its cover — you never know what someone is going through or how much your smile could mean to them.”
Q: Where can people support your American Heart Association efforts?
A: Visit my Spotfund page to support my efforts and learn more about heart health awareness!
