Digital Spotlight interview with Isabella DiFiore

Q: Tell us a little about yourself!
A: I’m from Statesville, NC. I am dually enrolled, a Junior at North Iredell High School and the College Career Promise Program at Mitchell Community College. I plan to attend Appalachian State University and major in Psychology (BS – Human Services) and acquire my Nonprofit Organizations Minor. I want to continue growing my nonprofit as well as become a Special Agent with the FBI to work my way up to becoming part of their Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).

Q: What inspired your Community Service Initiative?
A: My initiative, called “Bella’s Backpacks,” is a nonprofit (501c 3) I founded in February 3 years ago. Bella’s Backpacks aims to help sexually abused and neglected children by providing backpacks each month filled with care items these children might need while being moved out of these abusive situations. I have partnered with the Dove House, Safelight, The Dragonfly House, and Safe Spot child advocacy centers to provide these backpacks to children in a time of need so they can provide comfort and hope. I plan to expand Bella’s Backpacks statewide one day with the help of many partnerships I’ve formed and plan to form over the next several years. Being a non-profit allows me to apply for grants which will help me sustain and expand the reach of Bella’s Backpacks. I also, plan to spread awareness of child abuse and prevention through my social media, visits to elementary schools, and add several more partnerships with Child Advocacy Centers across North Carolina.

Q: What talent did you perform at your local competition?
A: I performed an operatic vocal.

Q: Do you have any previous experience within the Miss America Opportunity?
A: Previously, I have held the titles of Miss Thomasville’s Teen 2025, Miss Blue Ridge Valley’s Teen 2024, Miss Statesville’s Carolina Princess 2016, Asheville’s Carolina Princess 2017, Miss Statesville’s Carolina Princess 2018 and 2020-2021.

Q: What’s one fun fact about you?
A: I have danced on the Beauty and the Beast Stage at Universal Studios and danced in the Mickey’s Merry Christmas Parade in the Magic Kingdom.

Q: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off when you’re not competing or volunteering?
A: I like to make days off my mental health days, to relax, focus on myself and do anything around the house I need to get done. Another way I spend days off is enjoying activities or relaxing with close friends and/or family!

Q: What’s your favorite way to stay #MissAmericaFit?
A: From April 14th 2024 – April 14th 2025 I did an experiment where I cut out all fast food entirely and it truly did make such a great impact on my Physical Health, Mental Health, and Emotional Health! It was difficult at first because my body was adjusting to not putting all those harsh chemicals and artificial hormones in my body that first month and a half… however after 2 months I started seeing the benefits and it truly was amazing! Now the only fast food I will eat is Chick-fil-a because after much research, I found Chick-fil-a is the healthiest option for fast food and the most comparable to eating in an actual restaurant.
I dance Monday-Friday, workout 3 days a week, and stop eating at least 2 hours before going to bed in order for my body to properly digest and burn off all the food I’ve eaten that day while I’m asleep. I also do this so the food does not turn into stored body fat but instead turns it into fuel and nutrition for skin, hair, nails, and brain health!

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to a younger girl who looks up to you, what would it be?
A: “Never doubt herself, always reach for the stars, and keep people/friends in your life that will help you reach your goals because you become like the people you surround yourself with. Keeping a fantastically supportive group or family and friends close to you is important for not only your own self growth, but theirs as well! I always like to say successful people love to surround themselves with other successful people because other successful people will understand the hard work and dedication it takes for you to reach and go beyond the stars!”

Q: Where can people support your American Heart Association efforts?
A: Visit my Spotfund page to support my efforts and learn more about heart health awareness!
