Meet Lauryn Mallard, the new Miss Charlotte 2026!

We’re so excited to introduce Lauryn Mallard, the newly crowned Miss Charlotte 2026! She is from Advance, NC. She earned her title on January 17, 2026, and will go on to represent her community on the Miss North Carolina stage in June 2026!

Let’s get to know her a little better!

Digital Spotlight interview with Lauryn Mallard

Q: Tell us a little about yourself!
A: I am from Advance, NC. In 2021, I graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science with triple minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Dance. In 2024, I graduated summa cum laude from High Point University with a Master of Business Administration, concentrating in Healthcare Management. Today, I am employed as the Nutrition Program Coordinator at Davie County Senior Services. I facilitate the Meals on Wheels program for homebound seniors, ensuring access to nutritious meals while promoting health and wellness throughout the community. My career ambition is to become a Physician Assistant and open a private pediatric practice, where I can continue serving families through compassionate, preventative care.

Q: What should we know about your Community Service Initiative?
A: My CSI is Fight with Grace: Fundraising and Advocating for Childhood Cancer. This initiative raises awareness, funds, and tangible resources for pediatric patients, while amplifying their voices and stories. Through hospital partnerships, fundraising efforts, and community outreach, Fight with Grace works to bring hope, comfort, and dignity to children facing some of life’s toughest battles.

As a local titleholder, my objectives are to expand community education on pediatric cancer, increase fundraising to directly support patient care and family assistance programs, and strengthen partnerships with hospitals, nonprofits, and local organizations. I also aim to engage youth and volunteers in service opportunities that foster compassion and advocacy, ensuring that children and families impacted by cancer feel seen, supported, and never alone.

Q: What talent did you perform at your local competition?
A: I performed a lyrical dance. 

Q: Do you have any previous experience within the Miss America Opportunity?
A: Previously, I have held the titles of Miss Caldwell County 2025 (3rd Runner-Up, Preliminary Talent Award), Miss Ballantyne 2024 (2nd Runner-Up, Preliminary Evening Gown Award), Miss Jacksonville 2023 (Top 15 Semi-Finalist), and Miss Randolph County 2022 (3rd Runner-Up).

Q: What are some interesting or fun facts about you?
A: I began volunteering with Make-A-Wish at just 4 years old, which sparked my lifelong passion for service and pediatric healthcare. I can ride a unicycle. I can do the impossible by licking my elbow.

Q: What’s your favorite way to spend a day off when you’re not competing or volunteering?
A: When I’m not competing or volunteering, I love spending quality time with my family and friends to recharge. We enjoy trying new restaurants together, and I also love visiting my best friend who recently moved to Charleston, South Carolina. Whether it’s sharing a meal or traveling to see loved ones, these moments keep me grounded and energized.

Q: What’s your favorite way to stay #MissAmericaFit?
A: My favorite way to stay #MissAmericaFit is by instructing dance classes. Whether I’m chasing my 2–3 year old ballerinas around the studio or choreographing for my older dancers, I love getting my heart rate up while sharing meaningful time with my students.

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to a younger girl who looks up to you, what would it be?
A: “Your voice, your story, and your purpose matter exactly as they are. Lead with kindness, stay rooted in your values, and don’t be afraid to take up space while lifting others as you rise.”
