Community Service Initiative (CSI): Bella’s Backpacks

What are some objectives you have as a titleholder? My CSI is Bella’s Backpacks, an organization I founded in February 2022; In May 2024, it became a 501 (c) 3 Nonprofit and NC LLC. Bella’s Backpacks aims to help sexually abused and neglected children by packing backpacks filled with care items these children might need while being moved out of abusive situations. I initially partnered with the Dove House, a Child Advocacy Center, to provide these backpacks to children in times of need, offering comfort and hope. However, over the past three years, I have expanded the reach of Bella’s Backpacks by also partnering with and serving Safelight in Hendersonville, as well as the Wilkesboro and Mooresville chapters of Guardians of the Children. Recently, in the wake of Hurricane Helene, 105 of my backpacks have been delivered to Western Carolina, along with winter hats, gloves, socks, coats, and winter boots, to help those children as well. As a 501(c) (3), I have begun applying for grants to expand Bella’s Backpacks across NC to reach as many CACs as possible and to raise awareness of child abuse and prevention through my social media, visits to elementary schools, and speaking engagements. I will be holding my 2nd Annual fundraising event, Bella’s Heart Ball, in February to raise funds for Bella’s Backpacks and the American Heart Association. I’m excited about my collaboration with many local businesses and Kendra Scott to raise money, and I will continue to build partnerships to expand Bella’s Backpacks beyond North Carolina.

What are some interesting facts about you? I was a Carolina Princess for 5 years with the Miss NC Organization. I won an International Runway Award at the age of 5 and have walked in New York Fashion Week twice. I was a guest vocalist at the Lee Theatre for the Moonglow’s Tour when I was 10 years old. I have danced on the Beauty and the Beast Stage at Universal Studios and danced in the Mickey’s Merry Christmas Parade in the Magic Kingdom. I’ve attended the Joffrey Summer Intensives in Georgia and Las Vegas for the last 2 years. I’ve been in Belk and Hoover Vacuum commercials.
